Do I need a written risk assessment before one employee works alone in the warehouse?
Yes. Under § 8 of AFS 2023:1 the employer must perform and document a risk assessment before any task involving lone work begins1.
What about emergency contact?
AFS 1982:3 § 3 requires that another person be reachable for immediate help when the work involves elevated risk2. In practice this means an emergency line or wearable alarm tied to a responder.

Riskbedömning ska göras innan ändringar i verksamheten genomförs som kan innebära risker för ohälsa eller olycksfall.

Vid ensamarbete eller arbete som innebär särskild risk ska arbetsgivaren skriftligen dokumentera bedömningen och de åtgärder som vidtas för att förebygga ohälsa.

Arbetsgivaren ska följa upp åtgärderna och vid behov uppdatera bedömningen vid förändrade förutsättningar.
